YSL video part 1

YSL designer Stefano Pilati has created seven short films exploring his interpretation of this collection which is about Masculinity. He wants Fashion Films to become his trademark and considers this to be the future of Fashion. All I have to say is WORD Up!

a nos amours

This is a French film by Director Maurice Pialat and is part of The Criterion Collection. This film takes place in the eighties and the wardrobe is amazing but subtle. The story is about a confused young woman, from a dysfunctional family. Sounds like a typical teenager but of course the story is well done. I can't guarantee that you'll come away with anything other than...Sandrine Bonnaire looks young and beautiful in this film. There's definitely more to it than that but check it out for yourselves.

Cu-kie

Solomon Gibbs Directorial Debut...starring Ishmael Gibbs.
My son Solomon is 4yrs old and entitled his first short film "Cu-kie". Solomon coaches Ishie, his little brother to say random words like "Cu-Kie". Excellent Job for his first attempt. Look out for more shorts from Solomon Gibbs.

Kai Kuhne does a Fashion Video

This is a fashion video for designer Kai Kuhne who also designs for AsFour. Mr. Kuhne decided to do a Fashion video, instead of a Runway presentation and I believe this will be the wave of the future. Finacially it makes more sense and as a designer you have a more creative forum for your art/product. Look out for my Fashion videos in the latter part of 09. Designers...submitt your requests now

Rosie Perez working it out! (Pls excuse the bad quailty)

This is a Throw back Movie where the hair, wardrobe and dancing is phenomenal and let's not forget how this movie defined a generation! That was almost 20 years ago??? What happened people!! What happened that is that studio heads like most other major corporations believe in Quantity over Quality, the cream always rises to the top. So look out for more talented directors and movies that actually have to be creative with no budget.

I'm sure the director for the Kai Kuhne video did not reference this video but check out the comparison between the Fashion video and the intro to "Do The Right Thing", before the technology was there to make the outfit and scene changes look seamless. Got it give it up to Spikes editor, he was on it!

A Band Of Horses video - The Funeral

The Band Of Horses Video, "The Funeral" is directed by Matt Lenski. Matt and I go way back and I'm real proud of his work, I can see how he's evolved as an artist. This video is dope because it looks as if it is vintage footage but the lighting is so blown out and over-exposed that your like, Damn this looks real O.G.
Whether it is or isn't, props to Matt for making me rack my brain and think about it.
